It's so beautiful out!
What a beautiful day we're having here. I am excited that the sun is shining and it's a comfortable temperature out. That means one thing...summer is knocking on our door and I'm excited about the season. I don't really have a lot to say today...so we'll leave it at this! Enjoy the day, enjoy your loved ones and taking nothing for granted!

A new day
Well I did it....I've lost 26 pounds which breaks through a number that I will never see again! It's an awesome feeling because now all of this seems achievable...not that it didn't before, but this is like seeing light at the end of the tunnel. It's still going to take awhile and there will be bumps along the way...but it sure feels GREAT to smash a number.
I'm looking forward to this weekend because there will be many opportunities to test out what I've learned, changed and grown accustom too. I'm excited to see how it all turns out!
Make it a great day!

Isn't it simple?
This is a first for me....I don't have anything to write about. Actually, I do but it's all racing through my head at the moment and wouldn't make any sense if I started to write about it. But I will share that what's been on my mind a lot lately is the reality that eating healthy is expensive but selling bad foods-that we know are bad for us-is so much cheaper and easier. Isn't it simple that if we just reversed those two things we wouldn't have such an issue with weight in this country? I mean really, why haven't we figured this out yet??? That's what's been on my mind........

25!
Time to celebrate! This morning I reached my 25 pound lost. Woo Hoo. Sorry if I woke anyone up with my excitement and happy dance. I don't recall the last time I lost 25 pounds but it feels GREAT! I also noticed a big difference in my dress pants too. I actually triple checked myself this morning. The first time it showed I lost the 1 pound, the second time it showed that I didn't and the third time it showed I lost the 1 pound. So I figured 2 out of 3-I'll take it. I could say 2 out of 3 dentist recommend that you get a second opinion. (Sorry, funny side note humor)
Over the last few days I've been thinking a lot about what I'd feel like when I hit the 25 mark. Well it's great, but there was also an under line feeling of saying to myself you now have 100 more pounds to go. When I think of it like that it's sort of overwhelming-but the part I'll do is look at this in increments of 25-makes it a lot better. But needless to say it's still 100 pounds.
Oh and by the way, when I reach my goal there will be a pretty big celebration!!! And every one's invited. :)

One step closer
I must say that on a day like today sitting inside is not what I want to be doing. But since that's what I must do, I'll make the most of it. On that note-there isn't a lot to report today. It's been a pretty busy morning to say the least, but not in the right way. This week is shaping up to be a pretty long week. But that's OK, I have a focus and I'm sticking to it.

Q & A
Well it's been a solid month since I started this program and I'm feeling great. To date I've lost 23.8 pounds and 15.5 inches. My mom puts it this way, I've lost 4 1/2 bags of flour (or sugar). Pretty crazy when you start to compare how much weight something is. I'm 2 pounds from 25 pounds and saying good-bye for good to a certain number. You'll see fireworks in the north when that happens-and if you live in the north you'll see them from the south-HA.
Many people have had questions about what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. I'll take a moment to answer some of the questions.
Q: Why do I need to eat breakfast before 7:30am?
A: I didn't-it just happened to be a busy day and I had to eat breakfast pretty early that morning. I typically eat breakfast around 8am and for those of you who know me, I never liked to eat breakfast at all-now I recommend no one misses it!
Q: Am I exercising?
A: Walking is not considered an exercise with this program. The last 4 weeks I haven't done much of any exercises. The reason-this program starts you off by getting your body back to how you need to be eating and adjusting to making this change. The other part of this is when you're over-weight you have no desire to exercises. But it now is something that I know I'll be doing sooner than later.
Q: What has been the hardest part of this?
A: The commercials on TV. HA-though I will say watching anything to do with cupcakes or cake is hard, I find myself realizing that for me, right now it's not worth the calories and going back to what I used to be like. But the real part of this is actually making sure I get all the right amounts of good food that I need. I really have to think about it. One of the things that helps me is once I purchase my food i.e grapes, I portion them out into snack bags-the right amount that I need, then I can just pick them up as I need them.
Q: How much water am I drinking?
A: I drink 80 oz of water a day, or 4 large (I mean industrial size cups) of water...or my new cup is the venti insulated cups they sell-I will drink 6 of those.
Well those are some Q & A to start with-if you have questions, don't hesitate to let me know. If anything-I can bet there are other people out there wondering the same things.
Weight loss: -1.6 pounds -4.50 inches.
