At a very young age we are introduced to discipline. We are disciplined because of something we did that wasn't right or that we did after someone asked us not to. As a young child we are "schooled" in the ways of discipline. But what tends to happen as we get old we only hold tight to certain disciplines....
Lately the most important disciplines I've had in my life I haven't stuck with held tight too....I've failed. I have failed to stay the course, I have failed to dig deep and do what's right. I have failed to see the bigger picture and only focus on the tiny spot in my life that seems to overwhelmed me and lose focus on the path, the goal, the journey...the right discipline.
There are several types of discipline. One is the kind that is enforced when we've done something wrong, that's usually being disciplined for doing an action that was wrong. The other type of discipline is the kind that we need to see something through, sticking to your guns, letting nothing stand in your way...that's the discipline that I need. I am starting a new path of discipline, working out. You need a lot of discipline to get this accomplished and I am holding tight to get this done. Yes it's going to be hard, yes it's not going to always be fun, and I might want to give up...but I won't. I will stay disciplined to get this done, to see the end result, to stop giving excuses!
So here we go...let's go run!
